Every great community deserves a great park. At The Country, that vision is starting to take
shape. In partnership with the Town of Lumsden, a 5.5-acre park is being developed right
alongside the neighbourhood. It will offer residents a shared space to walk, play, relax, and
connect, all just steps from home.
Progress You Can See
If you’ve driven through The Country recently, you may have already noticed signs of progress.
The land has been graded, topsoil is in place, and trees have been planted thanks to the efforts
of the Town of Lumsden. It’s the start of something that’s going to grow into a beautiful, usable
green space. With grass next on the list, it’s easy to picture what this area will feel like in the
near future.
Work on the pond is also well underway. It has been shaped and engineered to manage
rainwater year-round using a specialized inflow and outflow system. The undergroun
infrastructure is expected to be completed in late 2024 or early 2025. After that, irrigation will be
added along with a pump station to support healthy landscaping and tree growth.
A Place for Everyday Life
When the park is complete, it will include tree-lined walking paths, a large pond, play structures,
and space for recreation. It is being built with all ages in mind. Picture walking with your coffee
in the morning, letting the kids burn off some energy at the playground, or enjoying a stroll at
sunset. This will be a place to unwind, stay active, and enjoy the outdoors at your own pace.
A View That Lasts
There are still a few park-backing lots available in The Country. These homesites offer a clear
view of the park and convenient access to all its features. Whether you’re enjoying the view
from your back window or stepping out for a quick walk, living next to the park adds something
special to daily life.
Built Together
This park is the result of a shared effort. The developer dedicated the land, completed
earthworks, and contributed financially to support the early phases. The Town of Lumsden is
now leading the development using their experienced team to bring it to life. It’s a natural
extension of the town’s other greenspaces and another reason why this community continues to
grow in all the right ways.
As it comes together, the park will become a core part of life in The Country. It’s another way
